About Sean Miller

A young lad with an old soul and a beautiful heart—witty, sweet, and thoughtful—bringing nothing but treble and a whole lotta bass.  

 Imagine a sweet little boy with big, bright beautiful blue eyes full of passion, curiosity and excitement reflecting the spark he feels every time he picks up his drumsticks. 

 His infectious energy reflects his love for music and his face lights up whenever he picks up an instrument. You can see the joy in his movements when he's drumming along to the rhythm of his favorite song or dancing to his favorite beat. Whether it's a guitar, a piano, or his didgeridoo, his hands seem to move instinctively, as if the music runs through his veins. 

 Born and raised in Bend, 8-year-old Sean William Murphy Miller’s passion for music began in infancy. The only way he would fall asleep was with rock and roll playing in the background. His earliest musical loves were Run DMC, Billy Idol, and AC/DC.

The first instruments he ever played were Fisher-Price toys passed down from his parents' childhood, along with his very first record player. He has a deep love for all genres of music and has been attending shows since before he could even walk. 

He takes great pride in his growing vinyl collection, as well as the guitar picks & drumsticks from some of his favorite bands. His jean jacket, covered in signatures & patches from musicians he admires, is another source of great pride. 

In 2022, he upgraded to his first real drum set and began lessons with Dennis Senff at Sunday Guitars. He’s currently studying with the incredibly talented Lindsey Elias, with support from Mark Ransom’s Bend Roots Music Education Collective Fund. At the same time, he’s learning from the skilled Derrick Strang of Strange Drumming and always jumps at the chance to join jam sessions with local musicians or perform onstage alongside some of Bend’s most talented musicians, including Bend Roots, Superball, TEB, Kaleb Kelleher, Lindsey Elias and Derrick Strang. 

Beyond drumming, he’s a creative soul. You might catch him drawing or scribbling in a little notebook, writing down stories or lyrics.   His passion for music, from memorizing lyrics to creating his own tunes, seems to be a huge part of who he is. It’s amazing how he can change lyrics to make entertain his family and friends.

Sean is affectionately known as a mini human jukebox because of his knowledge of music, exceptional lyric memorization and passion for singing. Above all his love for music is contagious—when he talks about it, you can hear the excitement in his voice. Whether he's discussing his favorite band, sharing new songs he's written, or just talking about his dream of one day having his own band, it’s clear that his life is all about the music.
